Telimos' Journal, issue 2
Day 27 - We have arrived in Kiera. Time now to repair the Frigate, and heal our wounds. Most of McBryde's people have chosen to stay in Kiera, hoping to find passage or works on other ships. I do not blame them - our Frigate was certainly past its capacity to carry passengers.
Day 29 - Still in Kiera. Visited a type of menagerie - a collection of rare and unusual animals, many requested by the Emperor himself. They even had a caged zombie. The operator of this establishment shared details of a mythical "Mer-Maid" - a creature that I have never heard of, but is seemingly commonplace in Blackpowder Pete's homeland. The proprietor offered a rather large sum if we could acquired one of these Mer-Maids, and suggested the Crystal Reef to the North West of the Grey Isles might be the first place to look. We are certainly considering the offer - but first we have to return to Baltimus.
Day 32 - Left Kiera, with our ship repaired and a few of our wounds healed. I feel my strength returning, and hopefully I will be able to once again speed the passage of our vessel.
Day 34 - Blackpowder Pete decided it would be faster to skirt the Floatsam Sea on our way to Baltimus. As a result, today we encountered a group of Octopons determined to destroy us. Their ink in my eyes prevented me from being useful for most of the battle, although from the sounds of things the Octopon's mage wrecked havoc on our crew. When I was finally able to clear my eyes, I threw all the power I had at the Octopon mage and came just short of destroying him. He certainly would have killed me then had not Karn charged up onto the upper deck and slain the Octopon. We lost no crew, although it did come extremely close. An encounter I would have rather avoided. On the upside, the Octopon mage had a suit of magical chain armour which I have taken, and seems to be of high quality.
Day 36 - Still skirting the Floatsam sea, spotted a wrecked ship. We wisely declined to investigate.
Day 38 - Brigandy Bay. We reprovisioned ourselves and set off again - none of us had much desire to spend much time in the pirate port.
Day 42 - Another razorwing swarm. Dispersed without incident.
Day 44 - Safe in Baltimus. We returned McBryde to the East India Trading Company, and he had a surprise for us - he had 8,000 pieces of eight worth of diamonds hidden on his person! Although I am somewhat disappointed that he did not feel he could trust us, I certainly understand. Understanding is made easier by the fact that the East India Trading Company split the profits with us as promised, although they certainly could have cheated us had they a desire to do so. Now, we rest, we heal, and we relax.
Day 65 - Everyone is getting somewhat eager to set out again. Our wounds are healed, and our purses lighter from our stay ashore. Serenity was approached by a Mr. Jameson, who wished for us to smuggle weapons to the Kieran Isles - perhaps for rebels working against the Emperor? One can hope. Unfortunately, we lack a ship larger than the Dongo. Jameson agreed to talk to the local moneylender about extending us a larger line of credit, and we asked McBryde if there were any prizes brought in that friends of his might be looking to sell off cheaply.
Day 66 - Thanks to the aid of the moneylender and more importantly McBryde, we've purchased ourselves a frigate, and christened it the Jinga Tahn! Now, we have a short span of time to make our run to Kiera and back, and repay that loan...
Day 67 - We set sail from Baltimus.
Day 69 - Spotted a very large ship - A Man of War? We avoided it.
Day 71 - Spotted perhaps a frigate on the horizon. It gave chase, but we evaded.
Day 72 - Reprovisioned in Brigandy bay.
Day 76 - Razorwing swarm dispersed.
Day 79 - It seems we may have spotted the ship of the infamous Inquisitor Torquemada. Needless to say, we avoided it.
Day 80 - We strayed into the Floatsom Sea...but it seems to have been good fortune, as we have discovered one of the sunken cities of the Orgapog empire! Myself, Aquilikae and Ash set to exploring the ruins - finding many valuables, including a magical bow! An amazing find!
Day 81 - Continued exploring the ruins. More valuables found.
Day 82 - Same as the day before. I think we've more or less cleared out the ruins. We set sail again tomorrow.
Day 84 - Coast of Kiera spotted. We sail now to the far side of the isle.
Day 86 - We have arrived at our destination and delivered our cargo of swords and muskets...and recieved our payment, 8,000 pieces of eight! Now, we must simply get back to Baltimus in enough time to repay our loan without penalty.
