Major Richard Skelton's Journal, Issue 9

18th of August, 1814 A.D.
We've spent the past two days healing and preparing for our assault. Today we took a dingy ashore, and scouted the village from landside. The defenses were formidable - two to three hundred pirates, a mix of human, Masaquani and Kehenna... Six big ships in harbour - a galleon, two brigantines, two frigates, and a sloop. They had set up traps and alarms on the landside of the village, they were prepared. They had collected all the villagers into a stockade/prison.

We prepared our assault. Aquillikae swam under the boats to sabotage them, and slew four Kehenna in the process apparently. We will sail in as the sun rises, and try a lightening raid while their ships are still immobilized - attacking their flag ship, hoping to take out Lollenaise himself and forcing a surrender by chopping off the head of the snake...

Failure and dishonour.

The battle started well, and we held out for an hour, but they two quickly gathered their forces against us. We were overwhelmed, and taken prisoner. Lollenaise took the opprotunity to gloat over us...and then offered Karn a position on our crew if he would kill on of us officers...and he chose me. Lollonaise foolishly gave me a weapon so I might have a "fighting chance", neglecting the fact that I had not yet given him my parole(nor would I have)...and not knowing the arcane powers at my command. I attempted to complete my duty, and instead of attacking Karn I threw all my arcane might against Lollenaise...it was not enough, and between Lollenaise and Karn, I quickly fell.

I awoke to find myself mutilated by the viscous curr. It appears that Aquillikae bargained for my life by stating that there was a reward in Baltimus for me...and that with my help, we could seize the treasure of Blackbeard himself...apparently, also the man who possesses the sword of the king. Lollenaise asked for our oaths of loyalty, until such a time as he possessed Blackbeard's treasure, and we were on our way again... He would not have my oath, except for one that I had previously sworn to Aquillikae...I would see the Sea Hags defeated, no matter what the price, be it my life, my dignity, or my soul... Lollenaise has my oath...but when the Sea Hags are defeated, he will not be able to hide from me...

Major Richard Skelton's Journal, Issue 8

10th of August, 1814 A.D.
It turns out the sounds I heard above decks were the sounds of Octopons attacking. There were quite a few of them, and they had a giant octopus and two magi with them! It was an extremely difficult fight to say the least. The elements seemed angry with me, as I only managed to successfully summon one elemental before I exhausted myself. Aquillikae chased down the Octopons as they fled, followed strangely enough by the Frenchman. We examined the wrecked ship the Octopons had been laired near, and found a Tiger Shark masthead - and a barrel of water from earth.

As we departed the site of the wreck, a thick bank of fog rolled in, obscuring all vision. We then heard a familiar voice - the Maiden. She instructed us that in order to defeat the Sea Hags, we would need three items: the king's sword, the heart of the last archmage, and that which the Kracken have lost. I would hope that at least one of those is a metaphor. We also need to remind ourselves that we have no actual evidence that the Maiden can actually be trusted...and I have a definite suspicion that the Maiden's true name may be Mara Mallus...

When the fog lifted, we found ourselves having made 2 days of travel in three hours time. Extremely suspicious. But if the Maiden possesses the power to transport people from Earth to Caribdus, I suppose moving them across a few leagues of ocean is child's play...

We arrived in Brigandy Bay to begin resupplying in preparation for setting out to talk with Tressa the Red once more. While in town, however, I overheard an interesting rumour - it appears that Lolonase is in Tulago, and has with him a kidnapped Prince. The rest of the crew has a score to settle with Lolonase, and rescuing a Prince could be just the way to gain ourselves political allies once again.
As a side note, the Frenchman got extremely uppity as we were preparing to leave, demanding a share of the booty. I am still unsure why we did not shoot him. Captain Pete resolved the issue without bloodshed, however. The Frenchman now has the title of "Marksman". Hah.

We set sail for Tulago today. We came across a sunken mansion, and Aquillikae went and investigated. He evaded many bloodfish in order to return with some treasure - and a spellbook, magically preserved in a bubble of air, containing the secrets to the Storm spell. An incredibly valuable find, to say the least. And Aquillikae wasn't even seriously injured by the bloodfish, which is a change.

Tulago is in view...and we can see Lollenaise is, indeed, in harbour.. We have now started to prepare for an attack... We'd better come up with a good plan, though, seeing as we are badly outnumbered...
